======Politics and Culture ====== The Homeworld has, over the past few centuries, slowly merged to become a single cultural and political entity. There are no countries * Rather than being divided up on the basis of national or geographic lines, the world is instead divided up on the basis of interest groups * Primary among these are guilds who regulate trade, but universities and the churches are also influential in other ways. * There is an extremely minimal world government which has a largely administrative role, particularly concerned with law enforcement * Violent crime is rare, and non-violent crime is generally dealt with by private organisations such as the guilds. Law enforcement is largely there in case of escalation, but rarely called upon. * The world is effectively monoculture. There is some regional variation, but broadly speaking, things like language and table manners are the same world-over * There are still the remains of past, more differentiated cultures. They are generally in tourist spots and museums. * There are a of civic holidays, as well as feast days for each of the gods. Everyone celebrates all feast days, though those who don’t worship that god treat it more as a bank holiday…. * Public communications networks serve to bring visual and auditory entertainment to the masses, there’s a thriving film industry. People tend to watch the same things world over, though there may be local news stations
